We all agree that there needs to be more dogs in our favorite franchises. There is an unacceptable void when it comes to a variety of canines sniffing around the universe.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of " Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," IDW Publishing will be giving us a new five-issue comic book series, " Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Dog of War."
Mike Chen is the author of "Star Wars: Brotherhood," "Light Years From Home" and "Star Trek: Discovery." He is also the artist of "Star Trek: Discovery."
The Dog of War wants to recreate a lost episode from the original "Deep Space Nine" show that ran for seven seasons.
The project's synopsis can be found here.
An extremely rare corgi from Earth makes its way to Deep Space 9 when a deal is made to get it for a buyer. A Ferengi without profit is not a Ferengi at all. A Borg component discovered by a crew sent to uncover Cardassian technology after the station's reoccupation shook Captain Benjamin Sisko to the core.
"You mean the greatest TV show ever made?" Chen asked when asked about his love for "DS9." I'm very excited to hang out with the "DS9's" crew and I hope that this story touches on all of the characters and intensity that made the show so powerful and great. A dog is going to be gotten by Quark. I am not sure what will happen if that doesn't earn your latinum.
"Deep Space Nine" is the defining "Star Trek" show for a whole generation of fans, and with all things ‘90s back in style, the timing is perfect."
"To be able to tell an additional episode in comic form for the series' 30th anniversary is extra special," says Antos. Mike Chen's passion for the crew of this celebrated space station is unprecedented, and no one knows the visual world of "Star Trek" quite like AngelHernandez. Plus...who wouldn't want dogs in a movie?
The first issue of " Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - The Dog of War #1" will be available in a new tab in April of 2023.
