A new report claims that Amazon is considering a new app for its live sports coverage.

Sources with knowledge of the matter told The Information that it could mean that the company separated its sports offerings from Prime Video.

Amazon also has a deal with the New York Yankees to show some of its baseball games.

It is worth noting that The Information's report comes after recent comments by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy in which he confirmed that live sports were a continued area of interest for the company.

It is not known when Amazon will release such an app, and whether it will charge a subscription fee. Peacock has a growing range of live sports events that are supported by NBC. Some of the exclusive content includes the NBA, NHL, MLB, and NASCAR.
