Elon Musk tells Tesla employees don’t be ‘bothered by stock market craziness’

Musk told employees not to be too bothered by stock market craziness after the company's shares fell by more than 10%.

CNBC obtained an email that Musk sent out on Wednesday. He said that he believes that the company will be the most valuable on the planet.

The email was reported earlier by the electric vehicle blogs.

The company's shares have declined about 68% for the year. The stock is down 42% in December, and is poised to be the worst month in the history of the company.

Musk blames rising interest rates for the decline in the company's share price. The slide has wiped out about $675 billion in market cap so far this year, and critics point to his takeover as a bigger reason.

Musk encouraged employees to push hard for a strong fourth-quarter finish, and asked them to volunteer to help deliver cars to customers before the New Year's Eve deadline.

In order to hit or exceed delivery goals, during the last days of the quarter, the company calls in employees from all over the company to bring new cars to customers, work that is normally only done by people on the sales and delivery teams. The company has warned investors that it may not meet its 50% year-over-year growth target.
