The treatment of Rep.-elect GeorgeSantos on Fox News wasn't nice. The guest-hosting for Tucker Carlson Tonight on Tuesday was held to the fire over the fabricationsSantos made about his experience to get elected. The fibs were characterized bySantos as "embellishing my resumé." Gabbard asked him if he had no shame. On Wednesday, Gabbard was attacked by Greene for going too hard on her incoming House colleague. She said that George is admitting and apologizing for lying about his resume, just like her former colleagues are demanding he resign. He has admitted to lying about having a college degree and having worked on Wall Street. The Long Island prosecutors have opened an investigation to determine if he committed a crime in doing so. It calls into question how the American people can believe anything you say when you are on the floor of the House. The apologies were not genuine. He complained that he was being pushed and called a liar and insisted that he worked hard for his achievements. It will be difficult for anyone to know where the deception ends whenSantos is sworn in.
She wrote that "Tulsi says that George's actions on the House floor are what is most important, but George has not even had the chance to take action for his district on the House floor."
She continued, "Tulsi says how can his district believe anything he says when he's on the House floor fighting for them." She didn't give a solution and instead said what about the record of the congressman.
After running for president as a Democrat in 2020 she left the party and joined Fox News as a paid contributor and occasional fill in for Carlson.
Some cracks have appeared in the support ofSantos in his own party.
They are troubled by the revelations. According to the Republican Jewish Committee,Santos deceived them. Nick Lalota called for a full investigation by the House ethics committee and law enforcement. Joseph Cairo is the chair of the Nassau County Republican Committee.
A potentially key vote for the GOP leader in the incoming Congress is being rallied by a major backer of Kevin McCarthy. McCarthy will restore committee assignments if he becomes Speaker.
