The New York Times reported last week that he lied about almost his entire resume. Citigroup told Forbes it couldn't verify his history with the company, while Goldman told the Times it couldn't find records of his employment. Forbes couldn't find any records that matched his name, date of birth or graduation year, despite the fact that he claimed to have graduated from the college in 2010. There was no evidence to support the claims that he runs an animal rescue charity and owns multiple real estate properties. He was reported to have divorced a woman 12 days before he announced he was running for Congress. According to genealogy records, his maternal grandparents were both born in Brazil, despite his claims that they fled to safety during the Holocaust. The New York Post reported on Monday that he has not graduated from college, has never worked for Citigroup or Goldman and was raised Catholic. He claimed that his dealings with the two Wall Street firms were not directly related to his work. He said he meant to say he is "Jew-ish."
