The remains of a teenager who was kidnapped during a home invasion last week have been found in a rural area.

According to a police statement, officers responded to the area of 88th Avenue and Indian School Road in the early hours of December 19 for an unknown trouble call.

Two men forced their way into a home and shot a man who was asleep. There were two men armed with a gun and a rifle.

The men kidnapped the teen and drove off in a dark colored car.

The man who was shot by the invaders was taken to the hospital.

The police were looking for the two men. The Homicide Unit of the Phoenix Police Department was handling the investigation.
