The Texans left tackle wants to be the highest paid tackle in the league.

I don't know who is the highest right now, but I want to top that. It's always a good idea to reset the market. It's a perfect time to reset the market. As far as my contract is concerned, everything is in place. Everything is lined up perfect.

After being named the starting left tackle for the Pro Bowl, Tunsil plans to change his contract in the off-season.

He signed a three-year contract extension in 2020. Nick Caserio converted Tunole's $17.85 million salary into a $16.815 million signing bonus and made his base salary $1,035,000 in the off-season.

The San Francisco 49ers signed Williams to a six-year, $138.06 million contract in March of 2021. There was a $30.1 million signing bonus.

He will have a base salary of $18.6 million and his cap number will be $35 million. His dead cap number is so high that the Texans could release or trade him to free up cap space.

He had the best production in the league. His pass win rate was the 12th best among tackles as he allowed only one sack and allowed 12 pressures.

"I was motivated by an article that said that I was a very good starter, and that's what motivated me during the off-season," Tunole said. I missed a lot of football last year because of a thumb injury, so I wanted to get back on the field. Just coming back to prove that I am the best tackle.

He wants to be considered for first or second team All- Pro honors, which he has never been awarded before.

The Pro Bowl should be honored by me. It feels good to be a starter in the Pro Bowl and I'm blessed to have that opportunity. Is it possible to get an All- Pro nod? I've been working my ass off for seven years to get acknowledged as an All- Pro. I think that's one of the biggest accomplishments in the league.
