Dallas Mavericks point guard Kemba Walker said his decision to shut it down last season because of a knee injury was the right one.

It wasn't that difficult to say the least. He told Peter that it was a selfish decision. I was watching for myself. I wanted to correct my mistake. I was not playing a lot at that time. It didn't seem right. I continued to work. Trying to get back to normal. The guys called me. That's really appreciated.

Over the summer, the Knicks traded Walker to the Pistons in exchange for a salary dump, freeing up cap space to sign players. Walker was released by the Pistons and joined the Mavericks.

Despite his short time with the Knicks, Walker has no hard feelings.

I'm from NY. I'll always support my team. He said there's no bad blood. It meant a great deal. It was nice. They chanted my name at the Garden. It felt like a super-dope. I was born and raised in NYC. Those were some great memories for me and I will always remember them.
