According to the incident report, Gervonta Davis hit a woman on the right side of her head with a closed hand slap.
The woman who doesn't live with Davis had a small scratch to her lip on the right side of her mouth.
The boxer was taken into custody. According to the sheriff's office, he was jailed on a domestic violence charge.
The jail official said that Davis remained in custody after the court hearing.
The report states that Davis was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The boxer's promoter declined to comment.
On January 7th, Davis is scheduled to headline a pay per view event in Washington against a opponent to be announced. The bout is part of a plan to have a fight in Las Vegas.
According to court records, Davis is due in Baltimore Circuit Court on February 16 for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run crash. A pregnant woman is one of four people who were involved in a crash. He is accused of failing to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury. He is also being sued.
In February 2020, he was accused of battering an ex-girlfriend in Coral Gables. The case was dismissed in December.
Davis held the 130-pound title.
