According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Lane Johnson is postponing surgery for a torn adductor so he can play in the playoffs.

According to Rapoport, the four-time Pro Bowler will rehabilitate.

The recovery time for surgery is 10-12 weeks. So, Lane Johnson's 2023 won't be affected by when he has surgery... even if it's mid-February. https://t.co/XVu42nVrDr

The Eagles are 13-2 and have secured a playoff spot, so their stakes in the last two weeks are not as high as other teams.

With a win over the New Orleans Saints or a loss by the Dallas Cowboys, they'll win the division. They would get a bye in the first round of the playoffs if they win this game.

It is important for Johnson to have an extra week off.

He was one of eight Eagles named to the Pro Bowl team.

Philadelphia is ranked 19th in adjusted sack rate and eighth in adjusted line yards thanks to Johnson. It's due to having a mobile quarterback with Hurts. The Chicago Bears have a similarly mobile quarterback.

Fans began to panic when news of Johnson's injury came out. It's possible to win a Super Bowl without a starting offensive tackle.

Lane Johnson's value to the @Eagles can't be overstated, they've lost their last 11 of 14 games without him. @PaulHembo.

Philadelphia's outlook is more positive. If Johnson isn't at 100% when the playoffs start, getting him at 70 or 80 percent is better than having to rely on Jack Driscoll.
