There is a contender in the NBA.

The Brooklyn Nets' nine-game winning streak is the longest in the league this season. The other two teams that can pull it off are Boston and Milwaukee.

The top of the Western Conference has seen some shuffling, with the New Orleans Pelicans regaining second place after three straight wins and the Memphis Grizzles losing at the Golden State Warriors.

Luka Doncic put up the first 60-point, 21-rebound, 10- assist performance in NBA history during Tuesday's thrilling overtime win against the New York Knicks.

Our panel is ranking all 30 teams from top to bottom, taking stock of which ones are the best.

1. Boston Celtics 2022-23 record: 25-10

2. Denver Nuggets 2022-23 record: 22-11

Now that the Nuggets are healthy, they're showing just how dominant they can be, and that's why they're making a strong case for a third consecutiveMVP award. This could be their year to get back in the conference finals in the open west.

3. Milwaukee Bucks 2022-23 record: 22-11

The team has lost three in a row and four of their past six to match their longest losing streak in the past two seasons. Their defense has a bottom-five rating and their offense is 22nd during that time.

4. Brooklyn Nets 2022-23 record: 22-12

Previous ranking: 6

The hottest team in the league is playing with a lot of confidence and has won nine straight. The coach has simplified the messaging for the team that is getting contributions up and down the roster because they are getting contributions from many different players. In Brooklyn, everything is clicking.

5. Memphis Grizzlies 2022-23 record: 20-13

Previous ranking: 3

Ja Morant, the point guard for the Memphis Grizzles, said in an interview that the team might be fine in the West, but they are not doing well against conference opponents. Since Morant made his bulletin board comment, the Warriors and Suns have lost double-digits.

6. New Orleans Pelicans 2022-23 record: 21-12

Previous ranking: 8

A seven-game win streak was turned into a four-game losing streak by the Pelicans. Zion lost time after being placed in health and safety protocols. In the past three games, Naji Marshall has averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 Rebounds and 3 Assists. He had a career high in points against the Pacers.

7. LA Clippers 2022-23 record: 21-15

Previous ranking: 10

The Clippers are playing well and are finally healthy. Leonard played a season high 35 minutes in the victory. Leonard has played 34 and 35 minutes in the past two games. Leonard is drawing attention to himself even if he is not scoring. The Clippers won in Toronto despite having to come from behind in overtime at Detroit.

8. Philadelphia 76ers 2022-23 record: 20-13

Previous ranking: 9

Philadelphia's eight-game winning streak came to an end in Washington on Tuesday, but the 76ers still got a great performance from their star player. He scored 48 points and led the 76ers in scoring for the 13th game in a row.

9. Cleveland Cavaliers 2022-23 record: 22-13

Previous ranking: 4

The Nets couldn't stop Garland from scoring 46 points on 14-of-20 shooting with eight assists. Kevin Durant and Irving both scored 32 points. Garland and Mitchell both went 5-of-16 in the loss.

10. Phoenix Suns 2022-23 record: 20-15

12. New York Knicks 2022-23 record: 18-17

Previous ranking: 11

The Knicks were on a roll. The collapse to the Mavericks on Tuesday night feels like a long time ago. New York is in a four-way tie for sixth place in the East after dropping four games in a row.

13. Sacramento Kings 2022-23 record: 17-15

Previous ranking: 12

The Kings haven't ruled him out long term despite Domantas being a late scratch on Tuesday with a thumb injury. The loss is a big one for the Kings as they have been playing at a high level all season.

14. Atlanta Hawks 2022-23 record: 17-17

The Pistons have been a good opponent for the Hawks. Two times this season, the Hawks have scored 130 points. On October 28th, Atlanta scored 136 against the Pistons and followed that up with a 130-105 win against Detroit.

15. Portland Trail Blazers 2022-23 record: 18-16

Previous ranking: 12

The Portland Trail blazers will look to take advantage of a rare three-day rest after their win against Charlotte. The next five games will be played on the road. Through 32 games, Jerami Grant has put up at least 20 points or more 19 times. In 47 games last season, he had 25 such performances.

16. Golden State Warriors 2022-23 record: 17-18

Previous ranking: 18

It's difficult to understand the Warriors team. They had a statement win over the Grizzles on Christmas. With Stephen Curry out for at least two more weeks, there won't be any conclusions.

17. Miami Heat 2022-23 record: 17-17

19. Indiana Pacers 2022-23 record: 18-17

Previous ranking: 20

The Eastern Conference Player of the Week was Tyrese Haliburton of Indiana, who averaged 38 points and 7.5 assists while leading the Pacers to two wins.

20. Minnesota Timberwolves 2022-23 record: 16-18

Previous ranking: 19

The blockbuster trade for Rudy Gobert wasn't the answer to take Minnesota to the next level. In the Wolves' loss to Miami, Gobert was outmatched by Robinson. It's not clear how Minnesota can grow without Karl Anthony Towns and Gobert.

21. Toronto Raptors 2022-23 record: 15-19

Previous ranking: 22

Over the past month, there's been a lot of discussion about Toronto's offensive struggles. The Raptors have lost a lot of games because of their defense. The Raptors ranked 25th in defensive efficiency after 20 games.

22. Oklahoma City Thunder 2022-23 record: 15-19

Previous ranking: 23

On Friday night, Gilgeous-Alexander played in his 30th game of the season and put up a career-high 44 points. Gilgeous- Alexander averaged 31.6 points per game. Through 30 games, Russell Westbrook had more games than anyone else. Kevin Durant is the only other player close to that since the team moved to Oklahoma City.

23. Chicago Bulls 2022-23 record: 14-19

Previous ranking: 25

The goodwill of a season-long three-game winning streak was short-lived and the Bulls were snapped back to reality with a home loss against the Astros. The Chicago is 1-8 against teams with losing records.

24. Los Angeles Lakers 2022-23 record: 14-20

Previous ranking: 21

Since Anthony Davis went out with a stress injury in his foot, the Lakers have lost four of their last five games. It will be at least another week before Davis is reexamined and, depending on how that goes, he could return.

25. Orlando Magic 2022-23 record: 13-22

The team is trying to pull itself out of the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Bol Bol is one of the more interesting young prospects. He had 14 points in the victory over the Spurs.

26. Washington Wizards 2022-23 record: 14-21

The Wizards have won three of their last four. One of their biggest victories of the season -- over Philadelphia on Tuesday -- might have come at a serious cost as Bradley Beal exited the court clutching the back of his left leg before heading to the locker room. He had been out for six games due to a right hamstring injury.

27. San Antonio Spurs 2022-23 record: 11-23

Jeremy Sochan had 23 points, 9 Rebounds and 6 Assists in a loss. The rookies totals matched or set new career highs, while the rookies went 7-of-10 from the line. Sochan became the second-oldest player in Spurs history to have a 20-point game and the youngest player in franchise history to have a 20-point, 5-rebound, 5- assist game.

28. Houston Rockets 2022-23 record: 10-24

Previous ranking: 28

In Monday's win over the Bulls, Kevin Porter Jr. had his best game of the season with 36 points, 7 rebound and 9 assists. During the five-game losing streak, Green was 6 of 30 from the field, but he made six of 10 3s in the win.

29. Charlotte Hornets 2022-23 record: 9-26

Previous ranking: 29

Charlotte is giving up a lot of points and LaMelo Ball is back. He had a big game in the win over the Lakers. The Hornets are hoping that they can find some rhythm in the new year.

30. Detroit Pistons 2022-23 record: 8-28

Previous ranking: 30

The Pistons have lost six games in a row, including a last-second loss to the Clippers. After the Clippers pulled their starters, the Pistons blew a 14-point lead. Detroit's next three games are against teams that are.500 or less.
