Gervonta Davis was arrested in Florida on a domestic violence charge, according to reports.

Davis was in police custody as of early Wednesday morning according to police records.

Davis is in the Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale and has a court hearing scheduled for 8 a.m. On Wednesday Davis' bond hasn't been set.

The arrest occurred just days before Davis' January 7 fight against Héctor Garca, which is a tune-up for his April 15 fight with RyanGarcia.

In February 2020 he was charged with simple battery/domestic violence for grabbing a former girlfriend by the shirt at a celebrity basketball game at the University of Miami.

The case was discharged in the month of December.

25 of Davis's victories came by way of knockout.

In addition to his previous titles, Davis is still in possession of the lightweight title that he lost to Gamboa.

If the fight goes forward, Davis will be a heavy favorite despite his opponent's 16 wins, no losses and 3 no contests.

The boxing fans have been waiting for the superfight between Davis and RyanGarcia, and they will get it.
