Dion Charles puts Bolton's best chance wide as Derby kept a fourth clean sheet in five matches

Derby's nine match winning streak was extended after a goalless draw with Bolton.

Both sides struggled to create clear chances in front of the largest crowd in more than a decade.

The Rams had a chance to take the lead in the first half when Toal sliced an attempted clearance from a cross onto his own bar.

At the end of the game, Kachunga almost won it for the hosts, but he missed his kick.

Playing in front of their biggest home crowd since they were demoted from the premier league, the Trotters often caused problems with their build-up play.

It was difficult for the hosts to break down the Rams defence which has conceded just one goal in five league outings.

The Rams were missing top scorer David McGoldrick through illness and struggled to turn good positions into clear chances, with a goal-bound effort blocked before the break.

Dion Charles had a great chance to score after the break, but he missed the left post.

At the other end, James Collins headed over when well placed, and Knight did the same in the 90th minute, but neither keeper had a save to make in the second half.

The Trotters, who have won two of their past seven matches, are in fifth place, 12 points behind the automatic promotion places, while a fourth league draw in five moves Derby up to sixth.

Ian Evatt spoke to the radio.

The games are tight and we have to learn to get the better of them.

Dion probably should score in a good spell after the half-time break, as we had the best chance of the game with him.

We didn't show enough composure when we played through them. The magnitude of the game, the crowd and the opposition may have contributed to that.

We made a good account of ourselves. I think we can do better, but if you can't win, don't lose.

The boss of Derby County was speaking to the radio.

"It's hammering it down, the pitch wasn't really conducive for either team to play, and I honestly thought that today was one of those days where a goal would come from a mistake, moreso than good play."

"They had a couple of good long throws near the end where I thought it might just sit for them, and we had a couple of really good chances from set pieces that I was disappointed we didn't score from."

I think we were the better team in a close match.
