J.J. Watt will retire from the National Football League after the 2022, he said.

He got off to a great start when he joined the football team. He was a four-time All-Pro and led the league in sacks twice. His three nominations are tied for the most by any other person.
His career has taken a turn due to a number of injuries.
Watt had back surgery in the summer of 2016 and only made three appearances that year.
Watt started to see a trend. He appeared in 55 games over the course of two years.

His Hall of Fame Monitor score is twelfth highest among defensive ends. All but one of the players ahead of Watt have been elected to the Hall of Fame.
