A young mother from Manchester, N.H. is facing charges after police say she gave birth to a baby in the woods early Monday morning.

A woman gave birth to a baby in the woods near the West Side Arena. Police were unable to locate the child despite searching the area where the mother directed them.

The true location of the baby was revealed by the mother after almost an hour. The baby was found and taken to a hospital for treatment, but no information was given on its condition.

A felony charge of reckless conduct and an unrelated charge of endangering the welfare of a child were the charges that led to the arrest of Eckersley.
