Stephen A.: Lamar should cut ties with the Ravens (2:17)

Stephen A. Smith explains why Lamar Jackson should sign somewhere other than Baltimore. There is a time and a place for it.

5:10 PM ET

John Harbaugh was succinct about the availability of quarterback Lamar Jackson for Sunday night's game against the PittsburghSteelers.

Jackson has been out for three weeks with a knee injury.

Harbaugh was asked if he thought Jackson would practice this week.

The return date for Jackson was the biggest question after Baltimore secured a playoff spot. Most players take one to three weeks to recover from an injury like the PCL that he sustained.

This week, everything you need.

Jackson missed the last four games of the season due to an ankle injury. Jackson was hurt in Week 13 and was listed as week to week.

Harbaugh said that he still believed Jackson would come back.

Even if Jackson practices this week, there is no guarantee he will start the game. After Jackson gets back on the field, he will have to be evaluated by the Ravens.

This type of injury can limit Jackson's effectiveness more than a pure dropback passer because he relies so much on his mobility. In the first 11 weeks of the season, Jackson ran for 755 yards and averaged 6.8 yards per rush, which was third best in the league.

Jackson's return could help the Ravens in their pursuit of the division title and a home game in the playoffs. Jackson needs to be healthy in order for Baltimore to have its best chance at a title.

Jackson is out for three games.

  • It's 30th in points per game.

  • 22nd in total yards.

  • 31st in pass rate.

  • In the red zone, the 32nd is the most efficient.

The whole offense came into the game with a desire to run the ball, according to Ravens running backs coach Freddie Kitchens. The Ravens ran the ball on 32% of the time.

Huntley had a touchdown and was 9 of 17 for 115 yards. This was the lowest completions in a Baltimore victory.

Huntley said that Lamar is missed on the field. We are going to try to win by one on the weekend. Every week, we chew away at that.

If the Ravens win their final two games, they will win the division title for the first time since 2011.
