Liverpool have agreed to sign Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven, say the Dutch club.

Gakpo scored three goals as the Netherlands reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The fee is expected to be between 40 and 50 million euros.

Gakpo will travel to England to complete the deal for PSV.

Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are facing long spells on the sidelines and have been moved by the Reds.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Gakpo.

According to a statement from the Eredivisie side, Gakpo was given permission to travel to England by the PSV management.

Gakpo has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists for PSV this season.

He has three goals and two assists in the European competition.

The Reds are sixth in the top flight after beating Villa on Monday.
