A very good boy has a wonderful home.

An air pilot adopted a puppy just in time for the holidays.

The dog, named Polaris, arrived at the US airport on an international flight, but his owner decided to keep traveling without him because of paperwork problems.

Captain William Dale, a United pilot, and his family adopted a dog from the animal welfare organization.

Dale hopes that we can do half as good a job of taking care of him as the United staff did. One employee told me to take good care of him or else. There was a gesture.

The airline worked to make sure that Polaris met the requirements for entry into the US. Polaris was cared for by the entire SFO United team until we were able to keep him in the US.

Polaris will have a loving home with United Airlines Captain Dale and his family just in time for the holidays.

The San Francisco SPCA received a $5,000 donation from the airline after they feted Polaris at the airport.

The customer service team at United took on a challenge to make sure Polaris would be safe, healthy and find a loving home.
