The White House condemned Texas Gov. Greg Abbott after busloads of migrants were dropped off outside of the official residence of the Vice President.

The White House said that Governor Abbott abandoned children on the side of the road on Christmas Eve. This stunt was dangerous and cruel.

Democrats blame Abbott for busing migrants from Texas to major Democratic cities to protest the Biden administration's immigration policies.

"We are willing to work with anyone, Republican or Democrat alike, on real solutions, like the comprehensive immigration reform and border security measures President Biden sent to Congress on his first day in office," Hasan said.

The Naval Observatory, where Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff live, was the location of three buses filled with more than 100 migrants on December 24.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management sent the buses that the mutual-aid group said were used to welcome the migrants. Volunteers helped with transportation, housing and food.

The fact that Gov. Abbott insisted on continuing to bus people here without caring about people arriving late at night on Christmas Eve shows how cruel he is. People are getting off the buses, they don't have coats, they don't have clothes for the cold, and they're freezing."

Abbott did not claim responsibility over the latest arrivals of migrants in the District, and his office did not return a request for comment on Monday.

The governor of Texas has criticized the president's response to the influx of migrants at the border and called for federal help. In September, Abbott sent migrants to Harris' home in order to get the administration to act.

"Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C. until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border."

According to a statement from the governor's office, more than 8,700 migrants have been bused to the nation's capital since the spring.

In a letter to the president on December 20, Abbott urged Biden to "secure the southern border" as the future of a controversial Trump-era immigration policy that turned away asylum seekers at the border out of public health concerns remains uncertain.

The Title 42 policy was due to end last week, but the Supreme Court temporarily kept it in place. Republican governors have urged the courts to keep the policy because it would cause an increase in migrants at the border and make the situation worse.
