There was a lot to live up to in the year that saw games like God of War: Ragnarok and God of War:Restricted. The early part of the year will be driven by third-party exclusives, while the back half of the year will be dominated by a sequel to a critically acclaimed PS4 game. Sony needs to deliver a lot of great PS5 exclusives to say relevant as the competition will only get better next year.

We rounded up the PS5 exclusives that should be on your radar. We only include games that have a firm release window, so don't expect to see Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Re remake, Death Stranding 2, or any other games. There will be a lot of different fun on PS5 next year.

Forspoken — January 24

Exploring Athia is forspoken deep dive.

One of the first PS5-exclusive titles we learned about was Forspoken, and we don't have to wait long to get our hands on it. After being whisked away to the magical world of Athia, a girl from New York named Frey is introduced to the game. There are some concerns surrounding the game, but its colorful magic-based combat and fast-paced exploration look like they are fun. We will have to wait until January 24 to play the full game, but there is a demo on the store.

Season: A Letter to the Future — January 31

The trailer for season: a letter to the future was released.

It looks like Season: A Letter to the Future is going to be relaxing. It looks like a game about biking around, recording sounds, and taking pictures of a beautiful world that is about to end, so it could be one of the first independent darlings of the next decade. The development of the show has been rocky, with reports of workplace abuse emerging in the middle of the season. If that doesn't bother you, you can check out the demo on the PS Store before it launches.

Horizon Call of the Mountain — February 22

The official trailer for "Call of the Mountain", a virtual reality game.

While next Spring might seem a bit quieter for PS5 owners, they will be able to play the PS2 on February 22. The crown jewel of its launch lineup is the first-person virtual reality game, called Call of the Mountain. There are a lot of other titles to look forward to as well, including a sequel to a cult classic PS2 puzzle game, as well as Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, a spiritual successor to the cult classic The Dark Pictures. Because of its graphical fidelity and first-party developer status, Horizon Call of the Mountain is a must-play title on PS5.

Final Fantasy XVI — June 22

The final fairy tale.

The next mainline Final Fantasy game will be an exclusive for the PS platform. Clive is a man who is on a quest for revenge in the war-torn world of Valisthea and can summon Eikons based on Final Fantasy series summons. The dark fantasy and political turmoil hooks popularized by Game of Throne are what this entry looks like. We can't wait to get our hands on Final Fantasy XVI when it comes out in June and it looks like it will be fun.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — Fall 2023

The reveal trailer for Spider-Man 2 is on the PS 5.

Spider-Man 2 is the most anticipated PS5 game of all time. It's one of the most enjoyable superhero games of all time, thanks to how satisfying it is to swing around New York as Spider-Man, and the 2020 follow-up is just as enjoyable. We can't wait to see what Insomniac Games does with a new Spider-Man game where both Peter and Miles are able to play, as well as what they do with new characters like Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Spider-Man 2 is expected to be the best PS5 game of the year when it arrives in fall of 2023.

Pacific Drive – TBA

Pacific Drive is coming to PC and PS5.

Pacific Drive is a survival game where players try to survive harsh storms and supernatural threats while they upgrade their car and drive through the Pacific Northwest. Pacific Drive is having a lot of fun with the premise of a game about driving a car. Pacific Drive is on our radars even if it doesn't have a specific release date or window within the next year.

Stellar Blade — TBA

There is a story trailer for the PS5 games.

It has made a strong impression on the game announcement livestreams that it has shown up in. The game follows a girl named Eve who is trying to save the world from aliens. If you're a fan of action titles from developers like PlatinumGames, you'll love Stellar Blade. There are overexaggerated characters and world design that will appeal to fans of Manga. It doesn't have a release date, but we know that it will be for PS5.
