A good Samaritan sheltered a South Korean tour group when their van got stuck in the snow.
A group of people, including nine tourists from South Korea, were in the middle of a snowstorm in Washington, DC, when they decided to go to the Falls. Two men in the group went to a door and asked for shovels to get their van out of a ditch.
They found a place to stay until they could be picked up on Sunday.
Alex Campagna said on his Facebook page that he heard a frantic knock on the door on Friday.
The visitors were put up on couches, sleeping bags, and an air mattress in the spare bedroom of Campagna and his wife. "As a Buffalonian, this is on another level, the Darth Vader of storms," Campagna said.
A member of the tour group that Campagna hosted told The Times that they ended up at a house with a full pantry.
"We have enjoyed this so much, it's an unforgettable experience and a unique blessing," said Choi.
On Friday and Saturday the group spent time with their host. They made several Korean meals on Christmas Eve after watching an NFL game. The couple are said to be fans of Korean food.
Visitors to the Campagnas were required to make many main ingredients, such as jeyuk Bokkeum, stir- fried pork, and dakdori Tang. The travelers were going to make bulgogi if they stayed for Christmas dinner.
Tourists were brought back to New York City by drivers after the roads were cleared. He said that he and his wife will stay in NYC. The rest of the group is going to return to South Korea in the middle of this week.
They did not respond to Insider's questions.
