'Outstanding' Mayfield orchestrates Rams' dominant victory

After Baker Mayfield's best performance in his short tenure with the Los Angeles Rams, coach Sean McVay was asked if the quarterback has been as good as or better than his expectations.

McVay said that he thought probably better. I was a fan of him and I think he has played well. You have to think about what he has done to come in here and be able to play with a lot of guys that haven't been here. It's just an amazing effort. He has done a great job.

Los Angeles didn't punt in the Rams' win over the Broncos on Sunday. The Rams took a knee with six seconds left in the game after scoring all but the last drive. The Rams did not punt in a game for the second time.

He completed 24 of 28 passes for 230 yards and two touchdown The completion percentage is the second highest in his career. The Rams' single-game completion percentage record was passed by the young quarterback.

Higbee said the man is a competitor. I think he's a good quarterback. Today he proved that he belongs in this league.

The Rams scored 51 points on Monday Night Football, the most they've scored in a game in over a year. The Rams scored a season-high 31 points in a victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Los Angeles entered the day with the second worst scoring average in the league.

The Rams are one of only four teams since 1950 to score 50 points in a game after entering that game with an average of 17 points per game. 10 games were played before 50 was scored.

The Rams have scored at least 50 points in three of their last four games. That is tied for the most such instances in that time period.

McVay said that he had been good. He sees the field well. He has a nice even-keel demeanor in between series. He can see things. Today things were smooth and he was able to communicate well. It was a big achievement for Baker and the offense to not have to punt against that team.
