In 2020 it was announced that Chicago was going to get a hotel. The hotel was supposed to open in the year 2021. The hotel is starting to accept reservations. I wanted to take a closer look at the property, as I think it will interest a lot of people.
TheVista Tower project was entered into an agreement in November 2020. The entire development, including a hotel and residences, was rebranded as a St.
Construction on the Vista Tower began in 2016 The development consists of a huge building with four stems. This will be the third tallest building in Chicago. There will be a hotel on the first 11 floors and residences on floors 13 through 93.
The WandaVista Hotel was supposed to be Wanda's first hotel in the US, but the project was renamed the St. Regis Chicago. The residences will be branded as the Residences at the St.
The hotel is expected to open in March. The hotel is now accepting reservations. I think the goal is still for the hotel to open early.
A fine dining restaurant with private rooms and an outdoor terrace, as well as an all-day dining restaurant and lounge, will be available at the St. There will be an indoor pool, fitness center, ballroom, and meeting rooms at the hotel.
The Alinea Group was supposed to be in charge of the outlets. Alinea Restaurant is one of Chicago's threeMichelin star restaurants. The company pulled out of the project at the end of the year.
There are a limited number of hotel images available.
Now that the St. Regis Chicago is accepting reservations, we have a good idea of what the points requirements will be. Entry level rooms at the hotel will be over 400 square feet in size.
Rates start at over $700 per night for those who pay with cash. Rates start much higher than that on a lot of dates.
You can receive complimentary breakfast, a $100 property credit, a room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out if you book through the Marriott STARS program. When paying cash, the Marriott STARS rate should be the same as the flexible rate.
The cost is in line with what you would think. The price in points varies by the night. I think Marriott Bonvoy points are worth 0.7 cents each, so redemption rates seem fair, with an average cost of around 65,000 points per night for a standard room.
Reservations for stays at the St. Regis Chicago can be made as of July 2023. One of the tallest buildings in Chicago will be called theVista Tower. The hotel will take up the first 11 floors of a skyscraper so it won't have the most amazing views.
It is always nice to have a new luxury points option. As a Bonvoy elite member, I am always more excited about the expansion of St. Regis than the expansion of Ritz-Carlton. I think they will come down over time.
What do you think of the hotel?
