Florida's capital city A federal judge in Florida disagreed with Andrew Gillum's claim that he was the victim of discrimination because of his race.

Gillum and a colleague were indicted earlier this year on federal charges. Gillum diverted donations to himself for personal use, according to prosecutors.

Gillum met with undercover FBI agents posing as developers during his campaign for governor. According to the indictment, his associates tried to get donations from the agents, and suggested ways to give money without listing them as political contributions.

Gillum denied the charges and said they were politically motivated.

The defendants' arguments were dismissed by the judge because he said they weremeritless.

Gillum asked that the charges be thrown out because he was being prosecuted because of his race. The judge who was appointed by Donald Trump said that Gillum had not offered anything to support the claim ofselective prosecution.

Gillum was the Democratic nominee for governor and narrowly lost to the Republican. Gillum was hired as a CNN analyst after he lost the election.

Gillum was found unconscious and drunk in a hotel room with two men, one of which was an escort. After entering a rehabilitation center, he did a television interview in which he said he is bisexual.
