Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is full of Rian Johnson whodunit goodness, but did you know it nearly included a tribute to David Bowie?
At the press conference, Mone andNorton revealed that they filmed a scene where their characters jam out to a song.
The scene takes place in the early days of the friendship between the two tech disrupters. Andi is singing "Moonage Daydream" while Miles is playing guitar. They dance on the side like go-go dancers.
The scene was supposed to show Miles and Andi's friendship before it deteriorated. We were trying to think of things they might have done in the bar when we were together.
Mone said it was to show the connection.
The Glass Onion bar where Andi and Miles hang out might have had an open-mic night if Mone andNorton's idea is anything to go by. In order to get a replica of Mick Ronson's Black Beauty Les Paul guitar for Miles to play in the movie,Norton contacted someone he knows at the musical instrument company.
The scene was cut from Glass Onion while it was filming. The interviewer exclaimed, "Release the cut!"
We might not see the footage if Johnson succeeds.
The best concert in the world for seven people standing around in a basement bar is what Johnson remembers. I would like to burn the footage.
You're in luck if you're still hankering for a David Bowie-Glass Onion collaboration. It's possible that the song "Starman" featured in the Glass Onion bar bonding scene is a tribute to what could have happened.
The film Glass Onion is now available on the streaming service.
