2010 (South Africa)

Iniesta's extra-time goal was enough for Spain to win the World Cup. Each game was decided by a single point.

Both France and Italy were eliminated in the group stages. He was the cause of Africa because of his hand in denying a place in the semifinals.

The last-16 tie between England and Germany was remembered for a FrankLampard goal that was not given.

2014 (Brazil)

Mario Gotze scored the extra time winner as Germany defeated Argentina in the final. The 7-1 win over Brazil in the semifinals was the most historic part of the tournament.

The star of the tournament was James Rodriguez.

Group D made a lot of news with England and Italy going out.

2018 (Russia)

France beat Croatia 4-2 with two of their star players scoring.

There were some great games in the tournament, including Portugal's 3-3 draw with Spain and France's 4-3 win over Argentina.

England lost to Croatia in the semifinals of the World Cup, but won their first ever penalty shoot out. The golden boot went to Harry Kane.

2022 (Qatar)

The tournament began with controversy about migrant workers deaths, gay rights and a winter World Cup.

Lionel Messi's Argentina beat France on penalties after a 3-3 draw in which Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick.

The World Cup of shocks included Japan beating Spain and Germany and Saudi Arabia defeating Argentina.

France defeated England in the quarter- finals.
