If you have a partner or friend, you can apply for a job at a tech giant in northern California.

Two people are needed to be lighthouse keepers for two years at the East Brother Light Station.

The joint role pays $140,000 a year and begins in April.

A valid captain's license is required for one application. Don't apply if you have kids or pets.

The successful applicants will have to work hard for their money, as they need to be a jack of all trades on the island that hosts both day trippers and overnight guests.

It's possible to switch between coast guard, lighthouse operator, cleaner, maid, gift shop attendant, boat captain, and chef frequently. To be in with a chance, you need to have a high-quality kitchen.

You'll also have to deal with unreliable plumbing and no internet.

Tiffany Danse and Tyler Waterson said they worked about 80 to 90 hours a week to maintain the island.

They had an average Saturday morning to-do list. Fresh muffins to bake. Breakfast is served for 10. There is a foghorn demonstration. The kitchen and breakfast dishes need to be cleaned. The room has been reset. The inn needs to be cleaned For 10 more people, start preparing a four-course meal. To the mainland, run boat service. Make a place for people to sleep. The Chronicle said to run boat service again.

Danse had a good time on East Brother.

There is more space out here. She told the Chronicle that when she was in the middle of the city, everything felt tighter and more restricted, but out here it felt more spacious.
