Domenick Nati didn't have a good start to the holidays after his electric car wouldn't charge in the cold.

The 44-year-old radio host, from Lynchburg in eastern Virginia, told Insider that his battery was down to 40% when he plugged his car in on Friday.

He said that the two hours went by and didn't change much. The numbers fell as the temperature dropped. Nati said that it stopped charging completely.

He tried to charge the vehicle at his house, but failed.

He decided to go to another supercharger on Christmas Eve. Nati said the screen showed the battery was heating up. The battery range did not increase an hour later.

He said in the video that he was stuck on Christmas Eve.

I wanted to see if it needed more time. He said he left the car plugged in and got a ride back to his house after hours.

Nati told Insider that he tried to contact customer support but got no reply.

He canceled his Christmas plans because he wasn't able to book a ride-sharing service in his area.

He was going to see his son open his gifts on Christmas morning, but he was going to be stopped by theTesla problem.

The company didn't reply to a request for comment.
