There were three buses carrying migrants from Texas that arrived in Washington, D.C. late Saturday night.

The migrants were taken to a church by the Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network.
In order to pressure the Biden administration to take action on immigration enforcement and border security, Gov. Abbott sent migrants from border cities to the nation's capital in April. Many people have criticized this practice.

In a letter Abbott sent to President Biden on Tuesday, the Texas governor said that he wanted to take the migrants to El Paso because of the cold weather.

Abbot wrote that his policies would leave many people in the cold. Your open border policies have led to a large burden for Texas.
The Republican said that the current border crisis was caused by Biden alone.
He said that the crisis for border communities in Texas was a catastrophe of his own making. It's not the job of border states to address this crisis. The U.S. Constitution states that it is the President's job to defend the borders, regulate immigration, and manage those who seek refuge in the U.S.
When the Title 42 policy is ended, the situation will only get worse, warned Abbott.
Between 9000 and 15000 migrant encounters a day are projected by the Department of Homeland Security once the policy ends.

Several buses dropped off migrants outside of the residence.
"Vice President Harris has yet to visit the border to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement, even going so far as to claim the border is secure," Abbott said. "Texas will continue to send migrants to sanctuary cities until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border."
The Department of Homeland Security released a statement discouraging migrants from entering the U.S.
Immigration and public health laws are fully enforced by the DHS at the border. Individuals and families attempting to enter without authorization are being expelled, as required by court order under the Title 42 public health authority, or placed into removal proceedings "As temperatures remain dangerously low all along the border, no one should risk their life or limb attempting to cross only to be returned."

Anyone trying to enter without authorization is subject to expulsion. Those who can't be expelled can be placed in expedited removal and subject to a bar of entry for 5 years. The Venezuela Migration Enforcement Process, which was announced in October, will prevent Venezuela's citizens from entering the US between ports of entry.
The DHS leads a whole of government strategy to secure the borders and build safe, orderly, and humane immigration processes.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement lost track of 150k illegal immigrants due to the lack of process.
There are 23,000 border patrol agents and officers working to secure the U.S.-Mexico border, and the federal government is working closely with the government of Mexico to bring perpetrators to justice.
The DHS said that the collaboration includes migration checkpoint, additional resources and personnel, joint targeting of human smuggler organizations, and expanded information sharing.
