Hilton makes grab to help Cowboys convert 3rd-and-30 (0:18)

T.Y. Hilton makes a catch on 3rd-and- 30 after the quarterback throws the ball downfield. 0:18.

9:54 PM ET

T.Y. Hilton's introduction to the Dallas Cowboys could not have been better because it happened at the lowest point of the game against the Eagles.

Facing third-and 30 after the Eagles sacked the quarterback on consecutive plays and trailing the Eagles 34-27 with 8:02 to play, Hilton made a 52 yard reception.

"Third-and 30," he said. T.Y can be found.

The score was tied with 5:49 to play after a 7-yard reception by Cee Dee Lamb. The Cowboys scored two more field goals for a 40-34 win against Philadelphia, keeping their faint playoff hopes alive and giving them a boost of confidence should the rivals meet again in the playoffs.

It sparked us and it was awesome. The sky's the limit for us if I can do that.

He felt something before the snap of the ball. When the play was run in practice, he went to him many times. When Slay wasn't looking at the quarterback, it felt even better.

I was like, "Well, here we go,' and that's what I do." "I just play the game." I'm here to make plays, guide those guys and help them as much as I can. Show that I'm still here when I go out there.

He said he could run. After watching his children play football through the summer and fall, he said his body felt refreshed.

He wondered if the catch was his "welcome to Dallas moment".

Hummmm. I wonder was that my welcome to Dallas moment 🤔🤔

He has made a lot of big-time catches in his career. I have been successful after a long career. He drew the holding call when I went to him fourth down. I knew to put some air under it as he got even with me. He was going to make a play or an incompletion. He went and caught the ball.

The San Francisco 49ers running back ran for a 55 yard touchdown on third-and-31 in the second week of the 2020 season.

In the past 10 seasons, Hilton is tied with Hill and Green for the second-most catches of 50 yards or more. DeSean Jackson has many.

The contest was the first of its kind by the hotelier. He didn't play last week against the Jags.

Over the last few months, the Cowboys have focused on the possible addition of free agent Odell Beckham Jr., and he visited the team. Jerry Jones was optimistic that Beckham would join the Cowboys and help in the playoffs.

The Cowboys stopped him midway through his workout because he still had juice.

McCarthy said that this is a people business. T.Y. is very well known and talented. He's played at a Pro Bowl level multiple times, so these types of situations are unique, and he has the chance to get a deal going. The phone calls that were made were extremely high praise for him. He's been great.
