The portal-hopping multiversal explorers Rick and Morty have encountered some formidable foes in their misadventures, but none so ferociously evil as horror legend H.P.

Portland-based Oni Press is injecting the madcap heroes into the fathomless depths of Cosmic nightmares for the recently released Rick and Morty vs Cthulhu. You can watch "Rick on Morty" on the streaming service.

Rick and Morty get some science right.

The Call of Cthulhu, a short story published in Weird Tales magazine in 1928, is a major part of the frightening fiction of HP Lovecraft.

Lovecraft horror has been around for decades because it asks important questions. The series announcement had a quote from the man. "Rick and Morty ask the same questions about ourselves, our existence, and the jerks who create our pop culture, so I decided to eat peanut butter and chocolate."

"Rick and Morty" was a hit on the Adult Swim block of adult-themed programming and has gone on to become a pop culture phenomenon. The sixth and seventh seasons of the animated sci-fi comedy are already in the works.

The first issue of "Rick and Morty vs Cthulhu" was published by Oni Press on December 7th.
