The Jets are likely to part ways with Wilson in the off-season as he continues to struggle in his second season.

They've lost their confidence in Wilson. He lost his confidence going into the last game. The Jets are moving on from him after this season.

Wilson lost his starting job in the 11th week of the season after a poor performance in a loss to New England, but he returned to the field three weeks later after Mike White suffered a rib injury.

Wilson was benched for the second game in a row after going 9-of-18 for 92 yards and an pick.

Wilson was supposed to take the next step in his career after being drafted second overall in 2021.

He missed the first three games of the season after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus. He returned to the field in the fourth week of the season and led the Jets to four straight victories.

Wilson has six touchdown passes and a 72.8 passer rating this season. He had an up-and-down first season in which he racked up nine touchdown, 11 picks and a 69.7% rating in 13 starts.

The Jets defense and skill-position players are good enough to make the playoffs, but they need more help.

The Jets have only one quarterback under contract. He has two years left on his initial contract. If New York releases him in the off-season, it would leave him with a dead cap hit of over $20 million.
