The former New Orleans Saints coach is putting together an "all-star staff" if he lands a head coaching job this summer, according to a new report.

Fangio was most recently the head coach of the Denver Broncos.

After retiring from the Saints last year, New Orleans still owns his rights and would need to be compensated with a draft pick or multiple picks in order to get him back.

One of the game's highest-paid coaches would need to be made by an interested team.

The analyst for Fox has indicated that he would like to come back to the sideline.

"I think sooner than later," he said. I enjoy my current job and I would like to coach again. I want to find the right place.

There is a list of names being considered for the opening of the Carolina panthers.

Several teams will have openings by the end of the season, including the Indianapolis Colts, who already have a vacant spot.

If available, he will be a top choice for most teams because of his record with the Saints. He ranked in the top five in points scored in nine of the 10 seasons.

The addition of Fangio to the staff could be even more exciting since he has been a defensive coach in the league for 19 years.

Fangio led a top 10 scoring defense in six of his last eight years as a defensive coach. The Broncos' defense ranked third in the NFL in 2021.

If either team lands the duo, they could lead a quick turn around.
