On Tuesday, a doctor from Massachusetts was arrested and charged with punching a police officer in the head.

In relation to the insurrection, Dr. Starer was charged with several counts, including two felony counts of assault on a police officer, and civil disorder.

Two days before the January 6 congressional committee released its final report detailing the Capitol riot and former President Donald Trump's role in it, Starer was arrested.

Starer is a doctor in Massachusetts.

According to prosecutors, Starer entered the Capitol around 10 minutes after a mob of Trump supporters broke into the building. Photos and video from the siege show Starer approaching a group of police officers inside the Capitol before making contact with one of them.

The officer was punched on the left side of the head. A blonde woman wearing a red jacket and hat was responsible for the assault, according to the officer. The officer struck the blonde woman after she came at her again.

Starer wore a Trump hat and red clothing while at the Capitol. Starer was identified by the officer in photos as her attacker.

The FBI was told by an anonymous person that they were aware of Starer's plan to attend the march on the Capitol before the attack. According to court documents, Starer bragged to a friend that she was prepared for the event with pepper spray and a mesh knife-proof shirt.

The investigators used phone and hotel records to confirm Starer's presence in DC on January 6, 2021.

According to court documents, after she was accused of punching a police officer, Starer may have been affected by chemical irritants that were used to control the mob. The photos show Starer getting help for her eyes and face.

As of Friday, the doctor didn't have a lawyer. An email address that looked like it belonged to Starer didn't reply to Insider's request for comment.

More than 500 people have pleaded guilty so far in relation to the attack.
