Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide who provided key testimony to the January 6 committee, said even her aunt and uncle who she hadn't spoken to in years were considering going to great lengths to help her.
The transcript of Hutchinson's testimony was released on Thursday. She wanted to avoid going with a Trump lawyer after she was subpoenaed by the committee.
Hutchinson told her mother that she thought she wasucked after she secured Passantino as her lawyer.
Hutchinson told his mother that they would ruin his life if they didn't want him to do anything.
She reached out to a family she wasn't close to in order to get legal representation that didn't have any ties to Trump.
"I was communicating with my aunt and uncle, who I had not spoken with in years because they are Qanon fans, but they were looking to refinancing their house to free up money so I could not have to go back to Trump world," Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson said she went to her biological father, who she does not have a relationship with, to ask for help. She said that he didn't understand it.
Hutchinson said in her testimony that Passantino and others connected to Trump tried to get her to give up information to the committee.
Passantino told Insider that the committee did not contact him to get the facts.
Passantino told Insider that he represented Ms. Hutchinson in a way that was ethical and consistent with her interests. I believed Ms. Hutchinson was being honest with the Committee throughout her interviews.
Bill Jordan and Jody Hunt were Hutchinson's representatives.
