Nancy Pelosi asked if Kevin McCarthy had forgotten about the January 6, 2021, government funding omnibus bill.

The speaker of the house said on the floor that it would be her last speech on the floor.

The minority leader said that this legislation is the most shameful thing to be seen on the House floor. I wonder if he forgot January 6. Pelosi made a statement.

One day after McCarthy railed against the bill, she responded.

This is not a good thing. McCarthy said that that was one of the most shameful acts he had ever witnessed. There is no better example of the failure of a one-party rule of the House, the Senate and the presidency than the appropriations process.

The bill includes language to reform election law to prevent future attempts to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power, according to Pelosi.

The Electoral Count Reform Act was included in the omnibus bill that was passed by the House. The legislation states that the vice president only has a ceremonial role in the election of the president.

The bill was pushed by members of Congress in response to the efforts of former President Trump and his allies to encourage former Vice President Mike Pence to not count votes in favor of President Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

The omnibus is a package for the people, according to Pelosi.

McCarthy and other Republicans argued that Congress should pass a continuing resolution to fund the government until Republicans take control of the House next year.

McCarthy supports hardline members who called for bills from Republican senators who voted for the omnibus bill to be stopped.
