According to Jeff Passan, Craig Kimbrel has signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Philadelphia Phils.

Kimbrel will be going to Philadelphia to be with his former boss. Kimbrel spent three seasons in Boston from 2016 to '18.

The Philadelphia baseball team had a new president in 2021.

Kimbrel has been on the move a lot in recent years, spending last year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, his sixth different organization.

After signing a three-year deal with the Chicago Cubs, Kimbrel was traded to the Chicago WhiteSox in 2021.

The veteran has had a problem with consistency. He made 39 appearances with the Cubs and had a 0.49 earned run average.

During his prime, the eight-time All-Star was one of the best closers in baseball, posting a 1.43 earned run average over five seasons with the Atlanta Braves.

Kimbrel has a long history of success and could be a good addition to the team.
