Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with grossNegligence.
He could be sentenced to a long time in prison.
Megan Thee Stallion said Lanez shot her in the feet after telling her to dance.
January 27 is when the sentencing will take place. Lanez may be deported to Canada.
Lanez pulled the gun on Megan Thee Stallion, even as his defense suggested that a friend of hers had shot her. Harris testified that she did not see who shot the rapper, even though she had previously said that Lanez shot him. Megan Thee Stallion said that Lanez tried to cover up the shooting and offered her and Harris $1 million to stay quiet. If she told police a gun went off, Megan Thee Stallion was worried about legal problems. Despite serious concerns, she came forward and identified Lanez as the person who shot her.
Reactions to the charges against Lanez were mixed. A claim that Megan Thee Stallion had lied about the shooting was called ignorant by her attorney.
Megan Thee Stallion testified that she felt like every man in a position of power in the music industry never cared about her side of the story.
