The best phones on the market make it easy to quickly take a ton of photos that crowd their internal storage, but they can't help you claw back some of that space. High-resolution photos and 4K or 8K video from a phone will add up to your phone's limited internal storage.

If you aren't regularly managing your media library, it can become tedious to track each file on your own. Helping you find photos that aren't worth keeping or locating extra-large files is one of the ways that the tools built into Google Photos can be used.

This is the first thing. The photos app can be launched.

There are four. You'll be taken to a new screen with more info. On this screen, you can free up X MB orGB.

Your phone's internal storage will be deleted when you go through this process. You can access the copies through your account's cloud storage and through your photos.

This will only remove files that have been backed up, so files that haven't been uploaded to the cloud won't be deleted. This process won't remove large files if they aren't backed up. You can either back up those files or manually remove them. You will be able to enjoy your new space after that.

Clutter management made easy

It may be worth taking some time to get rid of unneeded photos and videos that have been saved to the cloud since free cloud storage is no longer available. You can use the storage management page on the Google Photos website to remove blurry photos, large files, andScreenshots.

External physical storage like the bestUSB-C thumb drives could be considered. You can take back your phone storage and use it for new memories.
