Indian Premier League: England's Sam Curran becomes most expensive IPL player

The most expensive purchase in the history of the IPL has been made by Punjab Kings.

Six teams made a bid for the all-rounder before he was sold to Punjab.

Harry brook was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for over one million dollars.

He was the leading run- scorer for England in their recent win in Pakistan.

The Englishman was named the player of the tournament at this year's Twenty20 World Cup.

In last month's event in Australia, he took 13 wickets at an average of 11.38 and has improved his batting to become a genuine all-round player.

"Back to where it all started! Looking forward to it," Curran tweeted.

Chris Morris, a South Africa all-rounder, was the most expensive player in the history of the Indian premier league.

On Friday, Mumbai Indians paid over two million dollars for Australian all-round player Cameron Green.

One of the teams that missed out on Tom Curran was the Chennai Super Kings, who acquired England's red-ball captain and all-rounder Ben Stokes for over two million dollars.

The England team-mates went unsold.
