It was supposed to be a battle between the top two quarterbacks in the draft. The Jacksonville's defense was the star.

The Jets were limited to less than 200 yards. Wilson was replaced in the third quarter by backup Chris Streveler. The Jets were beaten by the Jags.

The odds of the Jags making the playoffs improved with the victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars

TheJaguars are surging and are two games away from making the playoffs.

It was not possible for the Jaguars to return from London after they lost to the Broncos. They had lost their fifth straight time. Thursday night was their third victory in a row and the first time they've won three in a row in over a year.

The league's best defense was dominated by them. The Jets were giving up 299.1 yards per game, and the Jags were close to that by halftime. The Jets have allowed the second most yards to the Jags. The Jets allowed just 66 yards in the first half after allowing 200 yards in the first half, the third most in the league.

If theTitans lose at home to the Texans on Saturday, theJaguars will take over the lead in the division. In Week 17 of the season, theTitans play the Dallas Cowboys.

TheJaguars andTitans end the regular season in Jacksonville with a chance to win the division and make the playoffs.

Two games ago against Tennessee, Evan Engram had a big game with 11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdown, and he has been a big part of the offense since. He had seven catches for 114 against the Jets, which is a single-season record for a tight end. In the past three games, he's made 26 catches and 347 yards. He is being given the ball with short, quick passes and being allowed to run after the catch. After the catch against the Jets, Engram had 95 yards and now has 444 after the catch.

The Jets had a chance to jump out to a big lead after recovering Lawrence's fumbled ball on the 16-yard line, but they settled for a field goal. When the Jets were expecting a safety to come in, they were surprised by the speed with which he came in. The quarterback was hit for the first time this season. The Jets scored points, but not giving up a touchdown was a boost for the defense.

In a loss at Philadelphia in Week 4, Lawrence turned the ball over five times and lost four of them. Ball security was a top priority. After Lawrence was sacked and fumbled on the game's first play, the Jags didn't turn the ball over again until the second quarter. The Jags have a positive or even turnover ratio in six of their eight games this season.

The next game is at the Texans

New York Jets

Wilson hit a new low. He was booed off the field and replaced by a former practice quarterback in Streveler.

The Jets were all but eliminated from the playoffs with the loss, but the big story was Wilson's poor performance. Has he played his last game for the Jets?

Wilson played down to his pre-benching level, completing only nine of 18 passes for 92 yards and one pick in a must-WIN game. It will be hard for him to come back from this.

Robert Saleh pulled Wilson from the running game in the third quarter in order to get the running game going. It was supposed to be a short-term change of pace, but it was more than that.

Streveler, elevated from the practice squad before the game, provided instant energy as he ran a college style, zone-read offense. Wilson stood on the sideline, seemingly waiting to come back. He didn't do it. Streveler's performance shined a light on the Jets' wild quarterback situation.

The team did a better job responding to Streveler than to Wilson. When White was in the lineup, it was the same. What do you think that says?

The Jets achieved their goal of playing meaningful games in December, but they have lost all four of them. They have a small chance of making the playoffs for the first time in a long time. The hopes of the season were undermined by the quarterback circus and the inability to generate much offense. They have scored only 32 points in the last three games.

The game was described in two words. It's good for a no-show when it's prime time. The longest active streak in the league was their eight straight prime-time losses. The "Butt Fumble" was their 19th drop of the past 25. The Jets get smaller when the lights go up.

Mike LaFleur leaned too much on the passing game in the first half against a vulnerable front seven. In the first half, the Jets ran only four times for 4 yards. The running game is a crucial part of a quarterback's success. The offensive line has lost its punch over the last month.

White will be back in the lineup in Week 17 if he is cleared for contact. It's a simple decision. Does he go with Wilson if he isn't cleared? Are you referring to Joe Flacco? What is the name of the person Streveler? He has a short time to think about his decisions.

Wilson's deepest completion on Thursday was 7 air yards, and he was 0-of-5 with an pick.

The next game is at Seattle.
