5-Star CB Desmond Ricks Commits to Alabama Over Florida, LSU

Alabama added a top-ranked defensive back to their group Thursday. According to On3 Sports, Desmond Ricks picked Alabama over LSU and Florida.

Ricks is one of the top players in the state of Florida in the 2023 class.

In October, Ricks was reclassified from the previous class to the next one. Alabama has four players in the secondary in this year's class, and two of them are four-star recruits.

When discussing his decision, Ricks said that his favorite thing to do was coach the corners himself. It means a lot to me to have someone like that teaching me.

This is a big addition for the team.

"Ricks is what everyone seems to be looking for these days in an outside corner prospect," Andrew Ivins said. The person is tall, fast, and physical. Ivins thought he could play in the slot at the collegiate level.

He should be able to see the field in the early stages of his career due to hisVersatility.

Alabama did not make the SEC Championship Game this season, which is a failure because of its high standards. When the field expands to 12 teams, there will be many more seasons without a College Football Playoff appearance.
