Russian soldiers in Ukranian made worried calls back to their families, but they weren't the only ones listening.

According to an investigation by The New York Times, Russian soldiers used cell phone calls to locate and wipe out the Ukrainians.

A Ukrainian official told The Times that they listened to the Russian soldiers as they panicked and called their friends and relatives. Ordinary phones were used to make decisions.

Ukrainian authorities who monitor cell networks for criminal activity noticed that a large number of calls were being made from foreign phone numbers. The spike in foreign numbers on the Ukrainian network was probably caused by Russian soldiers, according to the officials.

The Ukrainian military would use the information from the women's teams to carry out attacks. The official told The Times that they knew where the enemy was.

At one point, Ukrainian forces used both cell phone calls and a TikTok video to locate a Chechen soldier. The location of the unit was confirmed 40 minutes after the video was uploaded. The Ukrainian forces hit them with missiles.

Russian soldiers have made a lot of phone calls to each other. Audio of the calls obtained by various outlets show Russian soldiers complaining about being unprepared and disorganized and hoping they would get injured so they could be sent home.

Soldiers can be heard complaining about Russian President Putin and being treated likecannon fodder in new audio published by The Times.
