Hundreds of thousands of travellers arriving in the UK have been told to expect delays.

UK workers are taking action as the cost of living continues to rise.

At Newhaven port, the military and civil servants have been called in.

The postal workers will walk out on Friday.

The Border Force will be on strike from 23 to 26 December and from 28 to 31 December.

They will walk out at airports in England and Wales.

The PCS is in a long running dispute with the government over pay, jobs, pensions and conditions

The Home Office said that it was trying to reduce delays.

Passengers on departing flights are not likely to be delayed because passports are checked on the way in to a country.

The passport e-gates will be used by passengers who are arriving. Children under the age of 12 can't use these.

There are more than 500 flights due to land at the airport on Friday.

This will be the busiest Christmas for airports since the beginning of the year.

A woman named Jasmine O'Donoghue is in Costa Rica. She is going to go to Jersey on December 27th, which is not a strike date.

She has been told to change her flight because of the strikes.

She said she was worried about going home.

She doesn't know if she's going to get on the flight or not. It would be great if I could return to my family and boyfriend on New Year's.

More than a quarter of a million passengers will be able to travel at the affected airports on Friday.

A total of 8,910 flights will come in over the course of the strikes.

The Border Force's chief operating officer said travellers should be prepared for disruptions.

Many of the military personnel and civil servants will not be able to operate with the same efficiency as our permanent workforce because of Christmas sacrifice.

Many passengers are likely to face longer lines and delays during this festive period, and some could find themselves stuck at the airport before being allowed into the terminal, according to Paul Charles, chief executive of The PC Agency.

Mark Serwotka is the general secretary of the PCS.

He said that the strikes could be stopped tomorrow if the government put more money on the table.

The cost of living is a problem for Border Force employees. They are in a state of desperation.

Rail strikes are due to take place from 23 to 29 December.

Train services will be disrupted on Christmas Eve due to a strike by thousands of members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union.

Royal Mail workers are going to go on strike.

The Royal Mail will be doing all they can to deliver Christmas for their customers during the strike.

More than 12,000 posties returned to work on the last strike day after thousands of employees helped sort and deliver mail.

The Royal Mail accused the CWU of trying to hold Christmas hostage.

The CWU said that the Royal Mail had turned down a last-minute offer of negotiations and that it intended to destroy jobs.
