The gulf in class between the two sides has been shown by England's dominance.

They were 16-4 after the six-over powerplay and looked tired and deflated, desperately needing a break before the T20 World Cup.

Disappointing end to one-sided series

It was the first time in the series that the West Indies captain decided to bat first, and it made sense since they lost the previous three games trying to chase.

Matthews is a young captain with a lot of responsibility and that seems to be taking its toll.

England's bowlers ran riot as she departed for eight in the second over, which summed up the entire series.

The tourists were accurate but did not need to be great. There was a huge gap in ability between the batter and the batter who came in.

There was not much they could do to defend 43, but the West Indies bowlers have had a good series.

Where are England ahead of the World Cup?

It's not easy to assess England's form heading into the World Cup.

There are many positives to be taken, and the confidence of winning will serve them well.

England's depth and ability to rotate players has been a real asset, and a benefit to Knight and new head coach Jon Lewis.

There are still questions about the batting, as England have a tendency to lose wickets in clusters and there is uncertainty over Alice Capsey's return from injury, but the bowling has all bases covered.

England boast a varied seam attack with Lauren Bell's left-arm pace, the world's best bowler inSophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean's rapid improvement every time she takes the field, as she finished the leadingwicket-taker in the series with 11

The seamers have all benefited from a lot of game time and rest, with Issy Wong recovering from a quad injury to play in the last game.

Lewis has had the perfect start to his reign after England took valuable points in the women's championship.

The focus in the new year will be on the World Cup and the home series between Australia and England.
