The college student who tracked Musk's private jet is back on the social networking site under a new name.

Jack Sweeney said he started following the private jet of Musk because he was a fan. The billionaire threatened to take him to court after he suspended his accounts on social media.

With a 24 hour delay, Sweeney will continue to track Musk's private jet, but using a new name. The billionaire became the new CEO of the platform after changing the rules.

Sweeney told Insider that the framework for automation isn't there yet, so he will be posting manually. It is not clear when the account will be fully automated.

He said that ElonJet is still available on other websites. Sweeney told Insider that he will be bringing other accounts to platforms.

The accounts that Sweeney had were used to track politicians and billionaires.

After public information about the location of both him and other public figures was shared online, Musk took issues with it and offered to pay Sweeney to take the account down.

There was a new policy to ban the posting of someone's live location in most cases. It said the update was to prohibit sharing someone else's live location in most cases.

Sharing publicly available location information after a reasonable time has elapsed is not a violation according to the new rules.

Musk said that any account that doxes real-time location info of anyone will be suspended. Links to sites with real-time location information are included.

He said that posting locations on a delayed basis isn't a safety problem.

A request for comment by Insider was not responded to by the social network.
