There are some of the best Christmas movies available on streaming services.

It is almost Christmas and that means it is time to spend time with family and friends and watch your favorite Christmas movies.

Some of the films on this list are not Christmas movies. Whether you have kids or grown ups, there is something for everyone here.

Here are some of my favorite Christmas movies and where to watch them. You can find movies on Amazon, Apple TV, Disney+, and Peacock in the list below.

Do you like Christmas films? Wishing a very Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a wonderful new year!

I watched this one again with the kids and I don't mind it at all. At the end, I get emotional. Jimmy Stewart's story about family, resilience, giving up your dreams, and the importance of community in the face of an unfair capitalistic system is one of his best. Arsenic and Old Lace is one of the best Halloween movies of all time, and it was made by Frank Capra.

The film can be purchased on Amazon.

Home Alone (1990)

Home Alone is funnier than Christmas movies. I don't know. Macaulay Culkin is about my age, so when I watched this I could empathise with Kevin's excitement at getting the whole house to himself, and then his disappointment. The Wet Bandits are the funniest part of the film. Kevin is a straight-up psychopath in the sequel and it is one of the best slapstick comedies of all time.

On Disney Plus, you can stream it.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Chevy Chase's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is one of the funniest Christmas movies of all time. It is so funny. Each year on his birthday, a friend of mine would throw a costume party based on the movie. There are a lot of great costumes to choose from. You can see that scene in the movie.

You can stream it on the pay cable channel.

Hook (1991)

Hook

There is a hook.

Hook is probably not on a lot of Christmas movie lists. Peter and his family are going to visit Aunt Wendy. It has a Christmas feel to it. It is a remake of A Christmas Carol with Peter playing Scrooge. I am a huge fan of both Robin Williams and Captain Hook.

You can stream it on the pay cable channel.

Die Hard (1988)

It's die hard.

It's up to you if you want to watch a Christmas movie or not. It's great if you think this is a Christmas movie. Great if you don't. Let people have their say in the spirit of the season. I think it's a Christmas film. We can agree on something.

It's available to buy on Amazon Prime.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

Don't accept a substitute. The original cartoon is the best. It is the greatest book-to-screen adaptation of all time, faithfully reproducing Dr. Seuss's classic Christmas tale with the added benefit of Boris Karloff's narration.

On Peacock, you can stream it.

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

When you think of EdwardScissorhands, Christmas isn't what comes to mind, but a big chunk of the movie takes place around Christmas and during a major Christmas party. The Nightmare Before Christmas is included in these lists. I wanted to include some of his other Christmas movies.

On Disney Plus, you can watch it.

Klaus (2019)

There is a person named Klaus.

Klaus was a surprise hit of the year. I love the animation style and artwork in this film. It is a great story about healing wounds and ending rivalries. It's definitely worth your time.

Don't forget to watch it on the internet.

Elf (2003)

There is an elf.

Elf is one of the best Christmas movies of all time and is one of the more adorable roles that Will Ferrell has ever played. It's always a fun classic to come back to and have fun with the family.

You can stream it on the pay cable channel.

A Christmas Story (1983)

A Christmas Story movie

It's a Christmas story.

It's the same age as me, which makes me feel old. It shows how weird the suburban American family can be back in the 1940s.

You can stream it on the pay cable channel.

Batman Returns (1992)

The Batman comes back.

It's not a typical Christmas movie. Batman Returns is one of the best Batman films of all time, and it takes place during Christmastime in the city, which makes for a nice visual twist. Tim Burton is in the director's chair, as well as Danny DeVito's Penguin, Michael Keaton's Batman, and even the Catwoman movie. A great movie all around.

You can watch it on the pay per view channel.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

There is a Christmas Carol by the muppets.

TheMickey Mouse Christmas Carol is great, but the Muppets do it better. Michael Caine did a great job playing Scrooge. What a great combo. There are Michael Caine and a frog. One of my favorite things to do is go on an outing with the muppets.

On Disney Plus, you can stream it.

The Shining (1980)

The-Shining-maze

There is a Shining.

I wanted to put a scary movie on here, and The Shining is a good choice. Your typical Christmas movie is basically an inverted version of it. In the dead of winter, it takes place in an isolated hotel. A family being torn apart by madness, violence and demonic forces from beyond is what this film is about. Jack Nicholson played this role many times. There was no holiday cheer.

You can watch on the pay per view channel.

The Bishop’s Wife (1947)

James Stewart and Cary Grant are two of my favorite actors from the black-and-white days. The Bishop's Wife is about an angel who comes to help a bishop and cause trouble with his wife.

Amazon Prime gives you access to many services.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

One of the shorter picks on this list is a made-for-TV classic that is comforting to watch as an adult. The piano music, the small ambitions of the short, and the tiny tree that just needs a bit of love are all things I love. It was very good and uplifting.

On Apple TV, you can watch it.

Goodfellas

Goodfellas is a film about a group of people.

It is still a great Christmas movie even though it is less heart-warming. There is a movie that frequently returns to Christmas scenes. Goodfellas is a mobster movie I wanted to see. One of my favorites is a film by Martin scor savesay.

You can stream it on the pay per view channel.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)

There is a holiday special for the movie "Guardians of the GALAXY".

DC Films has a new boss in James Gunn, who is still working on the delightful Guardians of the GALAXY. This is a Christmas special like Charlie Brown, but instead of a full-blown movie, we get to see some of the most charming characters in the universe.

On Disney Plus, you can stream it.

Bonus: Violent Night (2022)

Violent Night Santa

The night was violent.

I wanted this list to be all movies you could watch at home this holiday season, but I had to include David Harbour's new movie. The hero in this Die Hard-meets-boozy Santa Christmas action movie is not so jolly. It can be seen in theaters.

Many great movies have been left off the list because I couldn't include everything. Let me know what your favorites are on social media.

I would love for you to follow me on this website and subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can keep up-to-date on my TV, movie and video game reviews. Thanks a lot.
