There are some design and price differences between the mount for Mac notebooks and the one for the iPhone. The mounting portion is a good deal larger to accommodate displays of different sizes.

There's an arm that secures the mount at the back of the device, and it's designed to fit over the edge of a display. The mount can be used for portrait or landscape mode. It's not possible on the MacBook version to tilt the mount hinge to get the view you want.

Because of the tilt option and the general height of an iMac or an external display, the desktop mount is much better at Desk View. You can see more of the desk with the desktop mount if you use the MacBook version of Desk View.

It's useful for Mac Studio or Mac mini owners who use it with a third-party display that doesn't have a webcams because it addsWebcamFunctionality. You can use the mount with a mini tripod if you want, and there is a tripod screw on the mount as well.

The online Apple Store has the iPhone Mount with MagSafe for sale. Customers will get it in late January to early February.
