The Eagles will be without quarterback Jalen Hurts for Saturday's game against the Dallas Cowboys because of a shoulder injury.
"Jalen did everything he could to make sure he was ready to go," Nick said. At the end of the day, he won't be able to do it. He wants to go. I've never been around a tougher player than Hurts.
Hurts did not attend Tuesday's and Wednesday's practices. He injured his throwing shoulder when he was driven into the ground by a defensive lineman in the third quarter.
Hurts stayed on the ground for a few moments after the hit, but continued to play. He ran for 61 yards and scored three times in the win.
He has been getting treatment on his shoulder. Hurts' body is not there yet and he is not going to play Saturday.
When asked if Hurts would be available for the game against the New Orleans Saints, they said they would take it day by day.
A win over Dallas on Saturday will give the Eagles a chance to win the division and the top seed in the playoffs.
The Eagles don't think Hurts' injury is long term. He is expected to be prepared for the playoffs.
Multiple players said that Minshew had a good showing at Wednesday's practice. Dallas Goedert did not remember a single pass hitting the ground.
"Gardner will be our guy, and he will be ready," she stated. Gardner worked his butt off for this opportunity. He practiced a lot on Wednesday.
Minshew was in Mississippi on Tuesday to speak at the funeral service for his late coach.
The coaches kept Minshew in the loop through phone calls and video clips from the install period.
Minshew threw a pair of touchdown passes for an injured Hurts in the Eagles' game against the Jets.
Randall Cunningham's franchise record for passing for 3,472 yards and rushing for 747 yards was tied by Hurts in 14 games. He has completed 67.3% of his attempts.
