Since the start of the war, Zelenskyy's attire has been toned down a notch from his usual black suit and clean-shaven look. On Wednesday, the Ukrainian president's more rugged look, complete with a beard, was on display as he addressed lawmakers to loud applause and praise.

Zelenskyy met with Biden early on Wednesday to ask for more aid. The Ukrainian president shared a message of praise for Biden from a Ukrainian soldier, and requested more aid from Congress.

Zelenskyy received standing applause from across the aisle. Zelenskyy wore a sweater made in the US by M-TAC as he delivered the speech.

The vendor went out of stock in May because the sweater was so popular. A Zelenskyy sweater was auctioned off in London.

The Ukrainian president told the Financial Times in December that he would not wear his suit until after the war ended. He said that he would keep his beard as well.

The Ukrainian leader wore a T-shirt with a meme mocking Russian troops from a brand started by a former local journalist.

Zelenskyy's fashion choices were taken notice of by congress members. The wartime leader's fit was praised by Rep. Gaetz, who has opposed additional aid for Ukraine.

According to The Dispatch, Gaetz said that his position on Ukraine aid was not swayed by his love for the fashion choices.
